First Day of Third Grade

Faith is ready to start 3rd grade! 

I am so happy that Faith is all smiles and excited to go back to school!

Daddy is very proud of his big girl!

So cool and ready for school!

The bell was ringing and Faith said, "I don't want to be late!"

Faith Turns 21!

Faith's 21st birthday was on Friday the 25th and it ended up being an all-day celebration! She didn't sleep well the night before, so I was a little concerned she would run out of steam, but she just kept going! It ended up being a beautiful fall day, so I didn't even need to put a jacket on her, which is rare for the end of October.  Faith in her new birthday shirt!  This year, she was able to bring cupcakes to HIT. Last year, due to the dietary restrictions of her peers, she didn't bring any treats. This year, however, she is a new room, where they truly love their snacks! My Tetanus Shot Ordeal: A Real Pain in the Arm

Last Wednesday I had my yearly doctor exam and when she said I should get my tetanus shot updated, I didn't think twice about it. The nurse said my arm would be sore for a couple of days, gave me a handout and stuck the needle in my arm.  The next day my arm was sore and although I found it a little harder to pick up and carry Faith, I was glad the pain wasn't going to last long. Boy was I wrong! But not only was my arm sore, my whole body was. I felt achy and extremely tired. According to a medical site on the Internet, these were mild side effects of the Tetanus shot. If these were only mild side effects, I would really hate to have them at a moderate or severe level. My arm is still red and sore on day 2 after my tetanus shot. On Friday, two days after getting the shot I felt so tired that I took a four-hour nap after getting Faith off to school. Then on Saturday I took a three-hour nap up until 7 o'clock, but still felt tired and was able to go back to sleep around 10. ...

A Wonderful Weekend Getaway

This past weekend, Faith and I both got to experience the Medora Musical   together - for the first time ever! We went with my dad and sister. The singing and dancing definitely met our expectations. After the National Anthem, some of the first songs they sang included, "Let's Hear it for the Boy" and "Dancing on the Ceiling." Both songs were a great and energetic way to start the show.  Faith was super excited, nearly dancing out of her chair! One reason she could hardly contain her excitement was that a few of the performers (Adam and Taylor) go to our church! My 10 Blog Posts of 2024

Remember David Letterman's Top 10 lists? That was back in the day when late night TV was actually funny! This was also when music was really great, and I faithfully listened to the Top 40 countdown every Saturday. And around New Years, the DJ would play the top songs of the year!  I guess thinking about these things inspired me to come up with my own list. As a final nod to 2024, I looked back at all the posts I have ever written and have listed the ones that had the most views this past year.
